Data centre performance optimisation specialist EkkoSense has appointed Matthew Farnell as its EMEA Director of Sales

Data centre performance optimisation specialist EkkoSense has appointed Matthew Farnell as its EMEA Director of Sales

Matthew joins EkkoSense from Schneider Electric where he spent the last five years as European Sales Director for Software and Digital Services. In this role he was responsible for driving sales of Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure cloud-based Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solution, developing partnerships across EMEA.

Commenting on his appointment, Matthew said: “today’s environmental and energy pricing pressures mean there’s never been a greater requirement for data centre operations teams to prioritise sustainable action. I’m proud to have played a role in helping Schneider Electric address this opportunity, and now look forward to helping customers accelerate this process even further by using EkkoSense’s complementary distinctive AI-driven SaaS 3D visualisation and analytics platform – EkkoSoft Critical.

“With its proven ability to help customers secure an average 30% data centre cooling energy savingwhile also securing a typical ROI of under 12 months, it’s clear that EkkoSense has a compelling proposition for organisations looking to lower data centre energy consumption and costs, and also reduce CO2 emissions. Importantly, its EkkoSoft Critical software also complements existing DCIM deployments with an intuitive M&E capacity management layer, so there’s never been a better time for operations teams to put EkkoSense to work across their critical facilities,” he added.

“EkkoSense’s distinctive AI-driven software-based approach to data centre optimisation is proving increasingly attractive to organisations tasked with improving performance from both a cost and ESG perspective,” added Dean Boyle, EkkoSense’s CEO. “As EkkoSense enters its next major growth phase, Matthew’s proven sector and EMEA market expertise will be invaluable in helping to establish EkkoSense as the smart choice for organisations looking to redefine their data centre performance.”

Matthew Farnell brings deep data centre software and infrastructure expertise to EkkoSense, having spent over 20 years working for APC and then Schneider Electric. He began his career at APC working as an EMEA Strategic Alliance Manager for IBM and then Dell, before being appointed as a Sales Manager responsible for developing business for Schneider Electric’s Enterprise IT Business Unit. Since 2017 Matthew has headed up the sales operation for Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure offering, focused on helping organisations to reduce the energy their data centres consume through digital transformation.
