Harrogate – 19 August, 2021 – Interact was named the winner of a Silver Stevie® Award in the Tech category in The 18th Annual International Business Awards® this week.
More than 3,700 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories. Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 260 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process from June through early August.
“Congratulations to all the other nominees and winners at this year’s awards,” said Rich Kenny, Interact Head of Strategy, “With a world class research team, we have been able to create something truly unique and vital in our industry. It’s also great to see software delivering climate and energy led solutions picking up such a big award.”
Interact’s winning formula was its first tool, a unique machine-learning algorithm that analyses data centre IT hardware to optimise energy usage, associated carbon, supply chain emissions, and cost. It is the only tool on the market that provides concrete, vendor specific recommendations on IT hardware to minimise the environmental impact of data centres. From case studies, it has shown savings of up to 53% on energy use, 48% on C02 reduction (scope 2), 80% reduction in scope 3 C02, and operational savings in excess of £1.1 million or 42% of estate cost (2021).
“I'm very proud of what we were able to achieve during the past two years despite all the unfortunate events of 2020. We hope to continue expanding Interact, by adding the necessary features, to further help data centres reach their net zero goals more quickly,” said Nour Rteil, Interact Lead Researcher and Developer.
As the ongoing COVID-19 crisis will prevent winners from receiving their awards on stage during a traditional gala IBA banquet, winners will be celebrated instead during a virtual ceremony on Wednesday, 8 December. Awards organisers are keen to applaud the success of the international business community in the face of ongoing restrictions.
“What we’ve seen in this year’s IBA nominations is that organizations around the world, in every sector, have continued to innovate and succeed, despite the setbacks, obstacles and tragedies of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” said Stevie Awards president Maggie Gallagher. “All of this year’s Stevie Award winners are to be applauded for their persistence and their resilience. We look forward to celebrating their achievements with them during our 8 December virtual awards ceremony.”
About Interact
Interact is the brand name of a smart software solution which carries out component and rack level analysis of data centre IT hardware using over 400 pre-configured server records and 1400 preconfigured CPU records. It then calculates the optimum number and configuration of replacement servers and generates a clear report on best solutions for cost and for energy efficiency over time.
By demonstrating the benefits of refurbished and remanufactured servers, Interact hastens the arrival of the circular economy in enterprise data centres, optimises energy, calculates Carbon Usage Effectiveness (CUE), and reduces supply chain emissions.
