Learn Data Centre Design from the Experts

Learn Data Centre Design from the Experts

ASHRAE Technical Committee 9.9 will present design guidance for Engineers, IT Professionals and Facility Staff at a one day educational course in Lisbon, November 20.  It is the first time ASHRAE’s full day design course has been presented in Europe. The course has been updated for the occasion.

The European data centre construction market is expected to grow due to increased investments from colocation, cloud, internet, and telecommunication service providers. Further, growth in data, general data protection regulation (GDPR), the popularity of social media, high adoption of smart wearable devices, and the rise of connected reality are predicted to be significant growth drivers for Europe data center construction market.

The new ASHRAE course explains how IT services that are lower cost, more energy efficient, provide more storage, and offer more computing capabilities impact operating conditions with a focus on ASHRAE’s evolving thermal guidelines for data processing environments.

The course targets facility managers and IT professionals responsible for data centre operation, executives and engineers who offer data center services to clients, suppliers and sales engineers whose equipment is used to cool data center spaces, and engineers who work on projects requiring ASHRAE TC 9.9 design specifications.

The TC 9.9 instructors are deeply involved in the European ASHRAE and Data Centre communities and are well versed in European regulation.

Paul Finch, Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Member ASHRAE, is COO at Kao Data in London, England.

Mark Seymour, chartered member of the Society for the Environment and member of ASHRAE, is CTO and founder of Future Facilities, London, England.
