CNet Training Awarded ISO 14001 Certification for Environmental Management

CNet Training Awarded ISO 14001 Certification for Environmental Management

The ISO 14001:2015 is the International Standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and has been designed to help organisations around the world reduce their environmental impact.

The certification process follows standards set by ISO – the International Organisation for Standardisation – to reduce the effect of global warming and mitigate all adverse impacts to the global climate, with the aim to address the 17 sustainable development goals set by the United Nations.

CNet is the award-winning global leader for technical education for the digital infrastructure industry - the data centre and network infrastructure sectors - and is the only industry dedicated education provider in the world to award both internationally recognised qualifications and professional certifications.  The company has been designing and delivering technical education programs since 1996.

Paul Gorman, Head of Technical Development at CNet said, “This is a significant milestone in our business operations, reflecting in our attitude to promote sustainable development in the Digital Infrastructure Industry. Our decision to work towards ISO 14001 certification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to sustainability and developing our ethical and environmentally focused management systems. In becoming ISO compliant, we underwent a long and extensive evaluation of CNet’s processes, this included an in-depth assessment of our management systems, environmental aspects and relevant documentation, along with an audit of our processes, with an emphasis on planned opportunities and objectives to further mitigate risks and impacts arising from the services that we provide.”

“Protecting the environment is not only an important business issue and one which CNet takes incredibly seriously, but one which effects all communities globally.” says Sarah Parks, Director of Marketing at CNet, “Gaining the ISO 14001:2015 certification reflects CNet’s continued commitment to monitoring and making ongoing changes to reduce environmental impact to help preserve and protect our environment for years to come. The standard provides us with an internationally recognised certificate that demonstrates our pledge to reducing consumption and waste, improving our resource efficiency, and ultimately reducing our carbon footprint.”

By being awarded with the ISO 14001:2015 certification, CNet have demonstrated that they have robust and clearly defined procedures in place to monitor, manage and improve processes and activities to reduce their impact on the environment and encourage customers and suppliers to do likewise.

“Gaining the ISO 14001:2015 certification was incredibly important to us; it has been a real team effort.” Sarah added, “The CNet team has already drastically reduced CNet’s carbon footprint through increasing our live Instructor-led remote attendance programs, this alone has removed the need for travel for our Instructors and customers. As an organisation we will continue to work hard to strengthen our operations and program delivery to be more considerate from an environmental position and we will focus our teams to ensure environmental focus is a norm at all levels."
