Chatsworth Products (CPI)’s eConnect® Electronic Access Control Shortlisted for DCS Awards ‘Data Centre ICT Security Product of the Year’

Chatsworth Products (CPI)’s eConnect® Electronic Access Control Shortlisted for DCS Awards ‘Data Centre ICT Security Product of the Year’

Buckinghamshire, UK, 30th April 2019 —Chatsworth Products (CPI) is pleased to announce that eConnect® Electronic Access Control has been shortlisted by the DCS Awards 2019 for ‘Data Centre ICT Security Product of the Year’.

Now in its ninth year, the DCS awards reward the product designers, manufacturers, suppliers and providers operating in the data centre market in Europe.

eConnect EAC is a patented technology that integrates the functions of an intelligent rack power distribution unit (PDU) with electronic locking and environmental monitoring, removing the need to power and network these devices separately.

eConnect EAC technology provides significant deployment savings through the ability to allow up to 32 PDUs (16 cabinets with front and rear locks) to be deployed under one IP address. Another key benefit is its ability to provide remote access control with users able to remotely program, monitor and control each cabinet access and keep a log entry for security and regulatory compliance purposes.

The EAC solution also allows for smart card authentication, providing a second layer of security above a simple password or user name. The proximity card reader recognises existing employee 125 kHz or 13.56 MHz RFID cards and is also compatible with Zwipe Access Cards with Biometric Authentication, providing a versatile fingerprint-activated contactless credential.

Julian Riley, CPI Regional Sales Director & General Manager Europe commented: “We are thrilled to be DCS Awards finalists for our eConnect EAC solution in the ‘Data Centre ICT Security Innovation of the Year’ category. Whilst electronic locking solutions for data centre cabinets have existed for a while, the challenge has been limited scalability and the cost and complexity of having to deploy separate systems. eConnect Electronic Access Control finally meets the market’s demands for a simple, cost-effective cabinet access solution.”

The winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony which will take place on 16 May at the Grange Hotel St Paul’s London.
