The Royal Corps of Signals Gain the CNCI® Certification

The Royal Corps of Signals Gain the CNCI® Certification

Leaders in IT and Communications in the Digital Age for the British Army, the Royal Corps of Signals, entered a collaborative agreement last year with CNet to internally deliver the level 3 CNCI® program to their Installation Technicians as part of their on-going education curriculum.

Those who have successfully completed the program, have obtained the official CNCI® certification and are able to demonstrate the highest levels of knowledge, skills and expertise in copper and fibre optic cable installation.

The certification, which is supported by the network infrastructure sector across the UK and Ireland, including manufacturers, installation companies and industry associations, is recognised as the ‘must-have’ certification to achieve quality of installation in an otherwise unregulated sector.  It is the only standardised certification for the sector which is now being specified within tender documentation for cable installation teams working on new builds and refurbishments.

President and CEO of CNet Training, Andrew Stevens, said: “We are privileged to be delivering the CNCI® to the Royal Corps of Signals. This very first official completion of the program is a great milestone not only for CNet, but also for the Installation Technicians at the Corps. The CNCI® content is constantly being updated to reflect the latest changes in the sector, so the Corps can remain confident that the program material is of the very highest standard, in preparation for their vital role in communications to the Army throughout the world.”

Staff Sergeant Andrew Poole, Course Co-ordinator at The Royal Corps of Signals said: “It is evident that the content of the CNCI® is of the highest quality which is exactly what we need as our Installation Technicians are of the highest calibre. The information they have taken away from the program has proved to be integral for their job roles. We’re looking forward to continuing this partnership with CNet and seeing more of our Installation Technicians CNCI® certified in the future.”
